Resource Center
CHOICE Resource Center
A home away from home where trust, respect, and a sense of belonging grow.
The CHOICE Resource Center in White Plains is a welcoming place where individuals and families can meet immediate needs, connect with healthcare services, and build relationships. Alongside food, clothing, technology, and support from community partners, the center offers space for conversation and socialization. Familiar faces and respectful interactions help visitors feel that they belong.
The need is significant. In August 2026, an estimated 21,700 Westchester residents were unemployed, representing a 4.0% county unemployment rate. Feeding Westchester distributed the equivalent of 17.7 million meals across the county in its 2026 fiscal year. These are different measures, but both point to the importance of accessible community support.
Access to healthcare is also becoming more complex. Changes to federal Medicaid law will introduce new requirements for some New York enrollees beginning in January 2027. Nationally, the Congressional Budget Office projects that the law’s Medicaid changes will increase the number of people without health insurance by 7.5 million in 2034.
A Place to Belong
The Resource Center is more than a collection of services. It is a place to be welcomed, heard, and treated with respect. Through conversation, socialization, and consistent support, CHOICE works to build trust and provide a sense of belonging while helping visitors take their next steps toward health and stability.
