“I accompanied our client today to DSS to complete the process of applying for Temporary Assistance. We received great news in that he was actually approved for SNAP benefits back in October and didn’t even know it. He will be receiving a temporary benefit card today in order to access his food stamps amount as of today. He should also be approved by the end of day for Temporary Assistance which will provide him with $91.00 in cash, biweekly. Next step will be getting his SSI approved but today was a good day as we completed two of his goals in about two hours.”
Without our assistance, these seemingly simple steps can appear nearly impossible to most of our clients. We’re just here to lend a compassionate hand working through the system.
