We Are Superheroes | Choice of NY

In September, 2014, we held our second annual EXPRESSIONS art show and fundraising event at the studios of world-renowned pop artist Charles Fazzino. Not only was this a truly successful and heart-warming event, it gave us the opportunity to showcase our leading-edge art therapy program, a concept of which we are extremely proud. And to complement the theme of “Art Therapy,” CHOICE invited talented singer/songwriter Mike Sabath to spend some time with the clients of CHOICE and to write a song inspired by their experiences, their struggles, and their triumphs. He debuted the song that he titled “Superheroes” at our EXPRESSIONS event. We are deeply grateful to Mike for sharing both his time and his talent with us and we are proud to adopt his song as our anthem as we continue on our journey to self-discovery and healing.

“Working with the clients of CHOICE and creating our song Superheroes was truly an amazing and inspiring experience for me,” commented Mike Sabath. “Their passion to express themselves through poetry and music was so awesome and to see and to be able to work with these talented people was an honor. More than anything, what I loved about this project is that this song gives them another thing to be proud of that really lasts forever.
